TFK Review: Max Brenner

There’s not too much more that TwoFatKids love better than ooey, gooey chocolate. And so imagine how pleased we were to be able to make an appearance at the newly opened Back Bay location of international chocolate cafe chain Max Brenner. The desserts: overall, delicious. The non-desserts: passable? You be the judge.

TFK Review: The Maharaja

Dying for a vacation to India but your boss won’t give you the time off? That guy is such a bummer. Good news is, now there’s The Maharaja in Harvard Square, where TwoFatKids found authentic Indian cuisine made from family recipes served in an even more authentic atmosphere with luxurious furnishings shipped over right from India. Go get your Khatta Dhuandar Gosht on.

Tres Gatos

Tres Gatos is a petite but funky space in the petite and funky Jamaica Plain, a bookstore/music store/tapas restaurant, which sounds like a mouthful, but somehow they pull it off. The cuisine was top-notch with a relaxed, warm vibe that makes you want to stay awhile - and with the small plate menu (not to mention the wine list), you can make the meal last for hours.

TFK Review : Tico

The unbelievably personable celebrity chef Michael Schlow was kind enough to host TwoFatKids for a photo shoot and review at Tico, his freshly opened Latin resto in the Back Bay. This one is another hit for Schlow, proprietor of Radius and Via Matta, with a dedication to South American, Mexican, and Spanish flavors and a lively atmosphere that makes the sometimes staid Back Bay just a little spicier.

TFK Review: Mass Ave

TwoFatKids new favorite alert - Mass Ave in the Back Bay is an upscale comfort food win on a plate. With a cozy atmosphere and sleek menu, this experience was pretty much a no-miss and a great option if you want to impress your more low-key out of town guests with just how spot-on the Boston restaurant scene can be.
